Lt. General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd) is a third-generation Indian Army officer commissioned into 2 Rajputana Rifles in 1972. Over four decades of service, he commanded formations across India's most demanding frontiers: an Infantry Brigade on the Line of Control during Operation Parakram, 17 Mountain Division in Sikkim, and 4 Corps in the Northeast. He culminated his career as Commander of the Northern Army in Jammu & Kashmir, where he pioneered a strategy of perception management to foster lasting peace in the valley. He was decorated with the Yudh Sewa Medal, Uttam Yudh Seva Medal, and Param Vishisht Seva Medal. Since February 2023, he has served as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.
